In GCP class students practice building positive mindsets to help their future goals.

This unit was focused on experiencing what it means to be a “leader”.

In the first class, students completed team based activities to demonstrate how their actions make them a leader of their own life. (first class blog post here)　

Next, students considered how leaders make an impact on the world through business. Students began projects designing an original business.

In their projects students needed to explain their business and show how their business could help make a positive impact on our world.

Then, just like real business leaders do around the world, the students presented their business ideas at a mini business conference. We held the presentations in Kyoso Hall.

From a new phone company that wants to create phones everyone can afford, to a new idol company that promotes making new idols from poorer countries to help improve their economy, all the students had amazing ideas for their future businesses.

Although not all students may go on to make their own business, the skills they practiced by presenting their passion, sharing their plans, and making a positive impact in the world will help in any future they choose to explore!

GCPの授業では、生徒たちが自分たちの将来に向けた目標を達成させるために積極的なマインドセット(=考え)を構築するための実践練習を行っています。
この単元では「リーダーとは何か」ということに焦点をあてて、授業を展開しました。

最初の授業で、生徒たちは自分の人生を、主体的に生きるにはどうしたら良いかを実践するためのグループワークを行いました。

次に生徒たちは「リーダーが活動を通して世界にどのような影響を与えているのか」ということについて考えました。そして、独創的な事業のプロジェクトデザインに取り組み始めました。

プロジェクトの中で生徒たちは自分たちの会社について説明し、それが世界にどのような良い影響を及ぼすのかについて紹介をする必要がありました。

そのため、世界中で実際の企業のリーダーが行っているように、生徒たちは自分たちが考えた会社の仕事内容や社会貢献について、簡単な企業説明会を実施しました。

例えば、すべての人々が十分に使いこなすことができるスマートフォンを開発したいと望む企業や世界中の貧困に苦しむ国や地域の経済発展の一助となるように新しいアイドルをプロデュースし、世の中に発信したいと考える企業を生み出すなど、すべての生徒たちが彼らの未来の仕事について、興味深く、面白い発想で考えることができました。

すべての生徒たちがこれらの独創的なビジネスを継続させることはないかもしれませんが、今回の授業を通して生徒たちが身につけた情熱やともに計画を立てる力、そして世界に良い影響を与える力は今後の生徒たちの生活の中で少なからず糧となり、役に立ってくれることでしょう。
